Cloud Consulting and Cloud Infrastructure in New Zealand
BTIT provides cloud consulting, migration and platform engineering for New Zealand organisations. We design public-cloud, private-cloud and hybrid environments around business outcomes, operational capability, security, resilience and data-location requirements.
Plan a cloud or hybrid-platform review
Cloud strategy based on workload needs
Not every workload needs the same destination. We assess applications, data, integrations, performance, recovery needs, licensing and team capability before recommending retain, retire, replace, re-platform or re-architect options. The result is a sequenced roadmap with dependencies, costs, risks and an operating model—not simply a target diagram.
Cloud migration and modernisation
- Application and infrastructure discovery, dependency mapping and readiness assessment.
- Landing zones, identity, networking, security controls and policy automation.
- Migration planning, rehearsals, cutover, rollback and post-migration validation.
- Containers, virtual machines, managed databases, APIs and event-driven integration.
- Infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, backup and disaster recovery.
New Zealand cloud and data residency
When local hosting, latency or support matters, BTIT can provide New Zealand infrastructure through SiliconKiwi, including VPS, hosted applications and online storage. We can also integrate local services with major public-cloud platforms to create a practical hybrid architecture.
Open cloud and reduced lock-in
Portability is an architectural decision. We use open standards and proven open-source platforms where they improve control and sustainability, including Linux, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes and container ecosystems, OpenNebula, automation tooling, Kafka and observability platforms. We make dependencies and exit paths explicit rather than pretending every service is interchangeable.
Cloud security, resilience and operations
Security and availability depend on more than choosing a provider. We design access controls, network boundaries, secrets management, logging, vulnerability management, patching, backup, recovery testing and operational ownership. Cost and performance are monitored as ongoing service measures rather than one-off migration tasks.
Cloud consulting questions
Can BTIT support both public cloud and private infrastructure?
Yes. We work across public, private, hosted and on-premises platforms and can design a hybrid model when that best fits the workloads.
Can we start with an architecture or cost review?
Yes. A focused review can identify immediate reliability, security, performance and cost improvements and provide a prioritised roadmap.
Do you provide ongoing cloud management?
Yes. BTIT can provide monitoring, administration, upgrades, backup, security and managed application services after implementation.
